Samson Okoro joined the Nigerian law firm of U. U. Uche and Associates late in 2003, where he was an Associate and handled matters with core competencies in Corporate and Commercial transactions. Accordingly, he worked on various matters including formation and governance of corporate entities or bodies, corporate advisory and consultancy, drafting and perusal of legal documentation for individual and corporate clientele, joint ventures and matters which include drafting, perusing and vetting of joint venture agreements or contracts, advisory and consultancy. He was also involved in labour law practice and employment issues, including drafting, perusing of employer/employee contractual agreements or obligations, regulatory advisory and consultancy. He has vast knowledge and experience in real estate law, including drafting, perusing of all forms of titles to property (such as leasehold, freehold and mortgages), perfection of legal titles with the applicable local State lands regulatory authority in any location within the country. Finally, he also focused on legal and estate management of property belonging to clientele, banking and finance, drafting and perusal of legal opinions for individual and corporate clientele.
He joined another law firm S. I. Nwoga and Associates in March 2005 as a Senior Associate and gathered a wealth of experience and had core responsibilities and/or competencies in addition to the above competencies in Immigration Services, which includes obtaining of STR visas, resident permits for expatriates and foreign clientele, advisory and consultancy. He also restructured the firm and was responsible for framing and achieving the goals and objectives of the firm along with the Principal Partner of the firm. He was also responsible for outlining the duties and responsibilities of junior associates and administrative staff.
He joined another firm Simmons Cooper Nigeria in January 2006 and was head of the real estate department as a Senior Associate and managed all real property owned by clientele. His responsibilities include but not limited to legal documentation as well as preparing, vetting and perfection of title of all real properties belonging to clientele. He also He supervised junior associates and employees and was the head litigation counsel in all matters under this department.
He joined another firm Law Fusion in May 2006 as a Partner and in addition to the above wealth of experience gathered in the previous law firms, added core competencies in project finance, including the financial structuring of corporate bodies, drafting, perusing and vetting of corporate loan and security agreements, pre contracts and memorandum of understanding. He has also been involved in infrastructure development and competition law and intellectual property law work, including the registration of trademarks and copyrights with the appropriate Federal Government Authority, the Federal Ministry of Commerce. Samson has vast and extensive knowledge and experience in labour law and employment matters, which includes but is not limited to corporate and individual advisory and consultancy services, drafting, perusing and vetting of employment contracts within the framework of the rules and regulations of all applicable laws in Nigeria.
He joined Awodi & Co. (Legal Consultants) in March 2013 as a Partner with the wealth of experience gathered from previous positions held. In, January 2015, Samson was appointed the Managing Partner of Awodi & Co. He graduated from the University of Lagos in 2000 with an LL.B. (Hons.) degree and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2002.
